The following policies and procedures are being implemented to assess worker’s health status and dancer’s health status prior to entering SMDAC and for all employees and dance families to report when they are sick. If an employee is sick, they will call Monica or Jeanne in the morning and we will do our best to find a replacement for the day they teach, or we will cancel the class. If an employee becomes ill at work, we will cancel the remainder of the classes or find a sub to continue classes for that day. If an SMDA dancer is sick, they will call the studio or email and let us know that they are ill and they will be required to stay home. If anyone has been exposed to COVID 19, they must be tested and stay home until results are completed. SMDA has now implemented a sick leave policy for our employees that promotes workers to stay at home when they are sick. If it is required to isolate or quarantine themselves for a given time, SMDA will do it’s best to find a replacement teacher for that time. If a worker is exposed to someone with COVID 19 and has to isolate they will call Monica or Jeanne right away to find a replacement. If a teacher or student has been exposed to COVID – 19 and has to isolate an email notice or phone call will be made to all the people that they could have come in contact with while at the studio. No names will be given to keep that teacher or students privacy. SMDAC will complete even more cleaning to keep all areas

Basic infection prevention measures are being implemented at SMDAC. All employees and dancers are encouraged to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. All employees and students will be required to also sanitize their hands (with our hand sanitizer) which is greater than 70% alcohol. There will also be hand sanitizer and sprays in every studio. Every staff member will be required upon entry of the studio to give each dancer a squirt or spray of hand sanitizer.

Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow pit or wear a mask.

All SMDAC employees, dancers and visitors (when allowed) will be instructed to cover their mouth and nose with their sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to avoid touching their face, mouth, nose and eyes with their hands. If they use a tissue, they will dispose of the tissue in the provided trash receptacle and wash and or sanitize the hands immediately afterward. Respiratory etiquette will be demonstrated on posters and supported by making tissues and trash receptacles available to everyone. If at any time we are out of tissues or anything, please let an employee of SMDAC know right away.
