This COVID-19 Preparedness Plan shall establish and explain the policies, practices and conditions necessary to meet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines for COVID-19, federal occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and Executive Order 20-48 related to worker and customer.
South Metro Dance Arts Center, LLC (SMDAC) will follow the CDC and the MDH and OSHA’s guidelines set forth to ensure safety to all employees and SMDA.
SMDAC will be sure to install infection prevention measures, identify promptly any sick individual and isolate them, and will adhere to the recommendations of social distancing.
SMDAC will clean and disinfect all spaces, decontaminate and use proper ventilation. (Medical Grade HEPA filter systems in all studio spaces).
SMDAC will communicate with all employees to implement the new plan and manage the supervision of this plan to ensure the effective ongoing implementation of the plan is working.
SMDAC is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for our workers and our dance students and families.
To ensure we have a safe and healthy dance studio we have developed the following COVID-19 Preparedness Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. All employees and dancer and SMDAC families are responsible for implementing this plan.
Our goal is to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our workplace and community and that requires full cooperation among our employees and our dancer and their families
Only through this cooperative effort can we establish and maintain the safety and health of our workers and dancers in this dance studio.
The studio owner and all employees are responsible for implementing and complying with all aspects of this COVID-19 Preparedness Plan. SMDAC has and will have full support in enforcing the provisions of this policy.
Our employees and dancers are our most important assets. We are serious about safety and health and keeping everyone SMDAC strong and healthy. We will be educating all our employees and dance families of the Preparedness Plan and everyone will follow the COVID -19 Plan that follows the CDC and the MDH and OSHA standards related to COVID-19 and the Executive Order 20-48.
Basic infection prevention measures are being implemented at SMDAC. All employees and dancers are encouraged to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. All employees and students will be required to also sanitize their hands (with our hand sanitizer) which is greater than 70% alcohol. There will also be hand sanitizer and sprays in every studio. Every staff member will be required upon entry of the studio to give each dancer a squirt or spray of hand sanitizer.
Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow pit or wear a mask.
All SMDAC employees, dancers and visitors (when allowed) will be instructed to cover their mouth and nose with their sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and to avoid touching their face, mouth, nose and eyes with their hands. If they use a tissue, they will dispose of the tissue in the provided trash receptacle and wash and or sanitize the hands immediately afterward. Respiratory etiquette will be demonstrated on posters and supported by making tissues and trash receptacles available to everyone. If at any time we are out of tissues or anything, please let an employee of SMDAC know right away.
Anyone who enters SMDAC will have to wear a mask. The mask for dancers may be removed once they have found their space in the studio. Per the MHD if you’re doing a sport that requires a higher level of exertion should not be wearing a mask. Wearing a mask while working as a dancer will be left up to the individual. We highly encourage are staff to be wearing a mask.
SOCIAL DISTANCING and MANTAINIG BEHAVIOR PRACTICES
*SMDAC will enforce social distancing of six feet to be implemented and maintained between everyone when this is required
* SMDAC will be using stickers and tape marks on the dance studios floors so everyone will know where six feet distance from others is.
*SMDAC will also put up posters as reminders of social distancing, washing hands and staying home when sick.
*SMDAC will have social distancing stickers in the common hallways
*SMDAC will be remove all extras from the studios
*SMDAC will close all waiting areas
*SMDAC will be starting and ending classes staggered so that there is no one close to each other. For fall classes that will be 5 minutes.
*SMDAC staff will disinfect the studio before the next group comes in to the studio.
*SMDAC Parents will pick up and drop off outside the building. Young children can have a parent bring their dancer into the studio for class.
*SMDAC Parents will not be able to watch students from windows until the Governor has ruled it safe.
* All SMDAC students and staff will have a temperature check before entering the studio.
*If any employee or student has had a fever in the last 24 hours, they will be asked to stay home
*All SMDAC payments will be made thru Studio Director or the front desk. A student may bring a check or cash in an envelope to the front desk.
*SMDAC will have an acrylic panel at the front desk to ensure safety of our employees and guests.
*SMDA will have all students use a hand sanitizer before entering the room
*All SMDAC staff and dancers will be encouraged to refrain from touching, face, eyes and mouth.
*SMDAC bathrooms will leave doors open
*SMDAC students and teachers can bring in their own water bottles with their names on them.
*SMDAC dancers will not bring in food to the studio unless they have a medical necessity for it.
*SMDAC can add to this above-mentioned list at if anything else described above comes to our attention. We will notify all employees and dance families by email
*SMDAC dancers will only be allowed class to participate in class when we have a signed NEW studio agreement.
CLEANING, DISINFECTION AND VENTILATION
Phones, credit card machine, copy machine, pens, computer keyboards will be wiped down constantly during the day.
Anything that is used like a ballet barre or mat or block will be wiped down with disinfecting wipes after each use.
Disinfection to be used at the studio
*Eco Labs – Peroxide MS Disinfectant used with clean paper towel to wipe down everything and can be used on floors and mirrors
*Staff is highly encouraged to wear a mask
*Dancers can wear a mask if they choose (just light not medical grade) Something made out of something light weight like a scarf or bed sheet material to reduce germs.
*Each studio will have a HEPA clean air filter for up to 1000 square feet some studios will have 2 filtering systems. We have spoken to our HVAC Engineer and they told us the HEPA filters are the best way to guarantee fresh air and also our fresh air, air return.
COMMUNICATION AND TRAINING
SMDAC will be communicating to all employees and dance families of all the new rules following the COVID 19 Preparedness Plan for SMDAC. We will ensure that everyone understands what is expected of them. All students and employees will sign a new waiver before coming to the studio to hold harmless South Metro Dance Arts Center, LLC for the contagion of COVID -19.
We will expect all our families to let us know if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID 19 or have contracted COVID 19 by contacting SMDAC immediately.
SMDAC and its employees will monitor how effective this program has been implemented on a weekly basis and will update as necessary.
