Daysha Pedersen

Competitive Instructor

Daysha Pedersen has had a love of dance and performing ever since she can remember and is trained in all styles of dance. While a member of the Lone Peak High School drill team in Highland, UT she won the titles of region, state, and national dance champions, but could also be seen as the lead in her school musicals. She began performing professionally at the age of fifteen where she performed for four seasons at Lagoon Amusement Park in various shows and roles. Daysha was accepted as the first in her class into the highly acclaimed and competitive Music Dance Theater program where she eventually received her BFA from Brigham Young University. While at BYU she was a member of the world-renowned Young Ambassadors touring company for two years and performed/choreographed with the group nation wide and throughout Europe. After graduating from BYU she went on to perform three seasons at the award winning Tuacahn Amphitheater. Favorite stage credits: FOOTLOOSE (Rusty), LITTLE MERMAID (Arista), GREASE (Cha Cha), HAIRSPRAY (Brenda), JOSEPH…DREAM COAT (Potiphar’s Wife), PETER PAN (Tiger Lily). Other professional highlights include playing Giggle Girl and Zombie in Odyssey Dance Theater’s THRILLER, featured dancer in Disney’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3, background dancer in MTV’s AMERICAN MALL…just to name a few. While performing has been a huge part of Daysha’s life, she has another passion of teaching and was always able to do simultaneously with her performing career. Daysha has taught and choreographed at the studio, high school, college, convention, and professional levels in many different capacities from stage to screen all throughout the country and other parts of the world. Daysha came to Minnesota due to her husband’s job at Federated Insurance in Owatonna and is thrilled to be able to teach at SMDAC where her two daughters—Sage and Baylor are gaining their dance training and education as well.
