Kate Johnson

Ballet Instructor

Kate is originally from St. Paul, MN. She began her dance training in Minneapolis at the Minnesota Dance Theatre, where she was part of their pre-professional division upon graduating in 2007. Kate has spent summers at Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle and The Julliard School in Manhattan, through scholarship. She holds a BFA and a minor in anthropology from New York University’s Tisch School of Performing Arts. She was a recipient of the Tisch Merit Scholarship while at NYU. After graduation, Kate went on to dance professionally with North Carolina Dance Theatre and Columbia City Ballet. Kate has studied with Lise Houlton, Marjorie Thompson, Susan Jaffe, and Cherylyn Lavagnino and performed works by George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Cherylyn Lavagnino, Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux, Dwight Rhoden, and Robert Battle.Kate has a passion for sharing the gift of dance with students!
