Amara Moorhead
Amara Moorhead is a dedicated dance instructor with 16 years of dance experience. Growing up in Lakeville, Amara trained at SMDAC, served as a student teacher, won Teen Miss BravO and took part in many encore challenges. Additionally, Amara excelled on the Lakeville North Varsity Dance Team, where she was a senior captain and participated in four state tournaments. Amara earned South Suburban Conference Honorable Mention, All Conference Honors, and “Stand Out Dancer” award from Minnesota Association of Dance Teams. She also competed in the 2021 Miss Dance Team event.
Her dance background extends beyond her studio and dance team achievements, where she trained with the Minnesota Dance Collaborative, performing at venues like the Minnsky Theatre and Minneapolis Institute of Art. Amara had the unique opportunity to teach tap on live TV with Twin Cities Live and currently coaches for the Lakeville North Lake Liner Dance Team. She is pursuing a nursing degree at the University of St. Thomas while continuing her dance career. Amara has enjoyed collaborating with other choreographers to create dances for local studios and emphasizes challenging dancers in her teaching style.
